Remodeling Your Bathroom? 3 Types Of Showers And Shower Doors To Choose From

Ray Moreno

If you are remodeling your bathroom and planning on changing the shower, you have many options to choose from. To help you, below are three types of showers and three types of shower doors. You can then get your bathroom finished.

Types of Showers

There are many different types of showers to choose from, including:

Mixer Showers

If your home has a large hot water cylinder or a combination boil,r you can choose a mixer shower. This type of shower mixes hot and cold water together as the water comes out of the showerhead. The water will not heat up completely, but the water will feel warm in the beginning. If your home has low water pressure you can also install a pump with the mixer shower to increase the water pressure.

Thermostatic Showers

With a thermostatic shower you preset the temperature of the water that comes out of the showerhead. This will prevent someone from getting burnt with hot water or getting hit with freezing water when the shower is turned on. Once the temperature is set, the mixer maintains this temperature. This type of shower is especially useful for homes that have children or for the elderly.

Electric Showers

With an electric shower as soon as you turn on the hot water it is completely hot. This is because with this type of shower cold water passes over a heating element that is located inside the shower unit. You do not have to worry about ever running out of hot water when taking an electric shower. This works great if you have a large family or if you like to take long showers. This can also save you money as you will never have to wait for cold water to warm up to hot water.

Types of Shower Doors

Once you choose the type of shower you would like you have to choose the shower door. There are different types to choose from including:

Frameless Shower Doors

As the name suggests frameless shower doors have no frames. Having no frame makes this type of shower door much easier to clean as the glass is one single pane. It also makes your bathroom look stylish and gives the shower a clean appearance.

Curved Glass Shower Doors

If you would like to have a larger shower, you should choose curved glass shower doors. This is because the glass curves out which makes the interior of the shower much larger. This type of door has a frame at the bottom and the top.

Bi-fold Shower Doors

Bi-fold shower doors work well for small bathrooms. This is because bi-fold shower doors save space because when you open the door it folds inside the shower instead of folding out.
